DiuMitra Disclaimer

DiuMitra’s Disclaimer explains the limits of our travel information, document checklists, community signposting and online resources. We are independent of government authorities and do not provide regulated immigration, legal or financial advice. Official decisions belong to the relevant authorities, while customer rights and any legal duties owed by DiuMitra remain protected.

1. About the DiuMitra Disclaimer

DiuMitra – Travel & Visa Advisory is a community-led website serving people with connections to Diu and Daman, the wider Indian community and people arranging services between the UK and India. Our website includes travel-related enquiries, publicly available guidance, checklists, local information, introductions and learning resources.

This Disclaimer explains what those resources can and cannot do. It applies to information published on https://diumitra.com/, to general explanations shared through our contact channels and to relevant online tools, unless a more specific arrangement or legally required notice applies.

We are not a government department, embassy, consulate, passport authority, immigration decision-maker, solicitor, licensed conveyancer or regulated financial adviser. A reference to a government service, professional or supplier does not mean that organisation operates, authorises or endorses DiuMitra.

Our activities are not all the same: some concern general information or community signposting, while flight, hotel, holiday, transport or other enquiries may lead to a separate paid booking with an identifiable supplier. The contractual terms and legal responsibilities depend on the service actually provided and who supplies it.

2. General information is not individual professional advice

Articles, service descriptions, guides, frequently asked questions, calculators, messages and checklists are intended to explain general information in accessible language. They do not assess your individual legal position, immigration eligibility, financial suitability, medical situation or entitlement to public benefits.

General information may be useful for preparing questions or understanding published instructions. It cannot take the place of an appropriately authorised adviser who assesses your personal circumstances, relevant documents and current requirements.

Where a question requires a regulated activity or an individual professional judgement, we may decline to answer it and refer you to an appropriate authority or authorised professional. Describing our services as “advisory only” does not authorise us to undertake any activity that requires separate permission or regulation.

3. UK immigration, visas, settlement and form-related enquiries

DiuMitra does not provide regulated UK immigration advice or immigration services. We do not assess your personal immigration eligibility, select an immigration route for you, advise on your prospects of success, prepare legal arguments, represent you before the Home Office or a tribunal, or communicate with immigration authorities as your appointed adviser.

We may explain information that is already publicly available, describe where official forms or published instructions can be found, and signpost you to an appropriately qualified adviser. Personalised immigration recommendations, case-specific form completion and representation may amount to regulated work, even if described as informal assistance or offered free of charge. Requests of that kind must be directed to a suitably authorised person.

For case-specific UK immigration advice, use the official Find an immigration adviser service and verify the adviser’s permission for the work required. Only UK authorities and the bodies empowered by law can determine immigration applications, permissions, refusals, appeals and related outcomes.

Immigration and visa rules can change and can depend on nationality, immigration history, the applicable route and the date of an application. No approval, appointment, processing speed, exemption or immigration outcome is promised.

4. Indian, Portuguese and other official documentation

Information about OCI, Indian passports, PAN, Indian visas, Portuguese identity documents, birth or marriage registration and other overseas procedures is for general understanding and preparation. DiuMitra is not an official representative of the Government of India, the Government of Portugal, VFS Global, an embassy, a consulate, a registry or any other public authority.

Published requirements, document lists, appointment systems, translations, evidence rules, official fees and processing arrangements may change. Check the current instructions from the relevant authority, official portal or authorised service centre before paying, travelling, sending documents or submitting an application.

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit and for keeping copies, checking deadlines and deciding whether to proceed. DiuMitra does not control the decisions, processing times, appointments or actions of those authorities. This does not exclude any responsibility DiuMitra may have for a service it has actually agreed to provide.

5. Travel bookings, holidays, transfers and insurance

DiuMitra may help users explore flights, hotels, holiday options, transfers, car hire, bus hire or travel-related products and may connect users with independent providers. Any price, availability, itinerary or description should be confirmed with the person or business responsible for the proposed booking before you commit or pay.

The booking confirmation and relevant pre-contract information should identify the contracting provider, what is included, the total price, any restrictions, cancellation or change rules and the applicable customer protections. Different legal obligations may apply depending on whether an arrangement is a single service, a package, a linked travel arrangement, an introduction or an arrangement DiuMitra itself makes.

A disclaimer cannot turn a legally regulated package into an unregulated referral. Where DiuMitra is legally an organiser, retailer, booking intermediary or supplier, it remains responsible for duties imposed on it by applicable law, including relevant booking-error and package-travel responsibilities. A third party’s involvement does not automatically remove those duties.

Not every flight or holiday is ATOL protected. Where protection applies, check the actual ATOL holder and the certificate or other relevant confirmation. See the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s travel guidance and the booking documents for the protection applicable to your arrangement.

Travel insurance is subject to the actual insurer’s terms, exclusions, policy limits and regulatory protections. DiuMitra does not assess your insurance needs or recommend a policy as suitable for you; a regulated insurance recommendation or sale must be made through an appropriately authorised or exempt arrangement where required.

6. Mortgages, banking, money transfers and other financial matters

DiuMitra does not provide regulated mortgage advice, lender recommendations, personalised financial plans, investment advice, insurance advice, credit broking, debt advice or financial suitability assessments. General preparation material may help you understand questions to ask a professional, but it is not a recommendation to borrow, invest, transfer funds or purchase a financial product.

If you are considering a mortgage, insurance, finance or other regulated product, check that the provider has permission for the relevant activity using the FCA Firm Checker. Any introductions, financial promotions, payments or regulated arrangements must be separately assessed against the rules that apply to the actual business activity; a disclaimer does not replace that assessment.

Exchange rates, fees, tax treatment, account rules, mortgage criteria and lender policies may change. Consider independent professional advice where necessary, and use established, verified channels before providing financial information or transferring money.

7. Property, conveyancing and local trades

Our property-related material may explain common terminology, compare information that you already hold, suggest questions for a legal professional or display community listings. It is not conveyancing, legal advice, a valuation, a survey, mortgage advice, title verification, property inspection, an offer to sell property or a guarantee of ownership or investment returns.

DiuMitra does not act as your solicitor, licensed conveyancer, surveyor or estate agent merely by publishing a guide or introducing a provider. Where a legal or regulated property service is needed, you should directly engage and verify a suitably qualified provider. For solicitors in England and Wales, you can check the SRA Solicitors Register.

A directory listing, quote comparison or introduction should not be treated as independent verification of a business’s identity, insurance, regulatory permissions, availability, workmanship or financial condition. Confirm contractual terms and bank details directly with the provider through a trusted contact method before paying any deposit.

8. Jobs, benefits, health, education and community support

Job and business listings, CV material, UK benefits explanations and community resources are general information and signposting, not government eligibility decisions, guarantees of employment or promises of public support. Employers, public authorities, awarding bodies and relevant service providers make their own decisions using their own requirements.

DiuMitra does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment recommendations, regulated financial advice or legal representation for a benefits dispute. Health concerns should be addressed to an appropriate clinician; urgent matters should be taken to the relevant emergency or public service.

Community introductions and volunteer-related information do not guarantee that an individual or organisation has been independently checked. Before meeting, hiring, volunteering, sharing sensitive information or arranging services, assess suitability and safety, particularly where children or vulnerable adults are involved.

9. AI chat, calculators, digital content and online learning

Automated chat, AI-assisted explanations, website calculators and similar tools can produce incomplete, outdated or incorrect responses. Outputs are for general information or learning unless a specific service clearly states otherwise; they must not be treated as official forms, binding decisions, professional assessments or a substitute for independent verification.

Calculations may use simplified assumptions and may not account for your actual legal, tax, financial, health or personal circumstances. Confirm important figures with official sources and suitably authorised professionals before acting.

Courses, practice exams, e-books, videos, workbooks and other DiuMitra learning resources are educational materials. Unless a particular product clearly and accurately states an externally recognised status, they do not confer a government qualification, regulated professional credential or guaranteed examination pass. Check the official examination provider or awarding organisation for current assessment requirements.

Please do not include sensitive identity documents, passwords, full bank details, medical records or another person’s confidential information in an open chatbot or enquiry unless a specific authorised and secure process has been provided.

10. External websites, referrals and commercial relationships

Our website may link to official sources, commercial suppliers, community listings, professional organisations or other independent websites. External content, terms, security, availability, customer service and data use are controlled by the relevant organisation, not simply by DiuMitra linking to it.

Some services may involve an introduction or other commercial arrangement. Where fees, referral payments, advertising or other relationships require disclosure, they must be made clear to you at the appropriate point rather than hidden behind this general notice.

You should confirm that the business is genuine and suitable, understand who is responsible for your contract, and check its own terms, cancellation rights and complaints process. We do not promise that every provider, listing, quotation, review or link is accurate, endorsed, continuously monitored or free from risk. We remain responsible for our own representations, actions and legal obligations.

11. Accuracy, dates and official sources

We aim to make our published information understandable and useful, but it is not a constantly updated official record. Laws, government forms, travel rules, processing arrangements, charges, eligibility criteria, provider offerings and website links can change after publication.

A publication date or “last reviewed” date tells you when a page was examined, not that every legal rule or third-party service has been checked on the day you read it. If information on DiuMitra differs from current instructions published by the responsible authority, use the authoritative source and request clarification before taking action.

We may correct, update or withdraw website information when needed. If you notice an error that could cause harm, please contact us so that it can be reviewed; this does not remove our obligation to take reasonable care in providing any service we have contracted to supply.

12. Your decisions, submissions and safety

You are responsible for deciding whether to use general information, what information to give to a supplier or authority, and whether to enter a separate contract. Review all important names, dates, identity details, travel documents, eligibility requirements, prices and payment instructions before sending them.

Do not assume that a message, checklist, AI response, referral or WhatsApp discussion establishes an official application, booking, professional-client relationship or confirmed appointment. Ask for written confirmation from the actual provider or authority when confirmation is required.

Avoid sending original documents or making payments to an unfamiliar person solely because they refer to DiuMitra. If you suspect impersonation, fraud or an unexpected change of bank account details, stop and check using a contact method you trust.

13. DiuMitra’s responsibilities and your legal rights

Nothing in this Disclaimer removes your statutory rights or reduces obligations that the law places on DiuMitra. Where we agree to provide a service, the applicable contract and consumer protection laws govern our responsibilities, including relevant duties to use reasonable care and skill.

We do not seek to exclude or restrict liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or another matter for which exclusion is prohibited by law. We do not use this page to waive your rights to an appropriate remedy for a service that we ourselves fail to provide with legally required care.

DiuMitra is not automatically responsible for a separate organisation’s independent decisions or acts merely because we provide a link or an introduction. However, where our own conduct, contractual role or applicable law makes us responsible, a third-party label or this Disclaimer will not remove that responsibility. Any specific and fair limitations belong in the relevant contractual terms and must be read subject to applicable law.

14. How this Disclaimer relates to other policies

This page explains the limits of general website information and describes important service boundaries. It does not replace booking terms, a signed agreement, a provider’s terms, a product’s pre-contract information, statutory rights or the DiuMitra privacy and cookie notices.

If you buy a service or digital product, read the terms and cancellation information that apply to that particular transaction before paying. For personal-data questions, see the Privacy Policy or contact DiuMitra; for cookie choices, see the Cookie Policy. If the wording on an individual service page appears inconsistent with this Disclaimer, please ask us to clarify the actual service before proceeding.

15. Contact and official verification

If you need to clarify what DiuMitra can provide, report an incorrect statement or raise a concern about our service descriptions, use the DiuMitra contact page. Do not send sensitive documents in your first enquiry.

For UK immigration matters, use the official immigration adviser finder. For regulated finance, use the FCA Firm Checker. For travel protection, consult the Civil Aviation Authority. For solicitors, verify the professional’s status using the SRA register.

DiuMitra provides community-centred explanations and signposting, not official influence or guaranteed outcomes. We aim to help you find the right source, understand your options at a general level and remain in control of your next steps.
