Question 1

How far in advance should I book international flights?

Accepted Answer

The supplied guide identifies 60–150 days as a broad long-haul planning window, while its route-specific table gives 60–90 days for UK to India. Actual fares should be compared rather than treated as guaranteed.

Question 2

Is it really cheaper to book flights on a Tuesday?

Accepted Answer

The guide says no fixed booking day should be relied upon. Mid-week travel can often be cheaper, but airline pricing is dynamic.

Question 3

How can students get extra baggage on UK to India flights?

Accepted Answer

The guide says eligible students can access specialised fares with some full-service carriers and gives an illustrative 2 × 23kg allowance. Check the exact fare conditions and eligibility before booking.

Question 4

What should I do if an error fare gets cancelled?

Accepted Answer

The source guide recommends avoiding non-refundable hotels, local transport and activities until the airline confirms the ticket. It gives 72 hours as a practical waiting period in its example. Exact refund rights depend on the booking and airline circumstances.

Question 5

Are round-trip tickets always cheaper than two one-way tickets?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily. The guide recommends comparing return fares with mixed-carrier one-way combinations and open-jaw routing.
